Gold, an essential resource in Last War
Gold is an essential resource in Last War, as you'll need it for building upgrades and tech research, among other things, and some of these upgrades cost hundreds of millions of gold to complete.
Win gold in Last War
Looting players
Find players with lots of gold and attack their base with your T1.
Spy before you attack to check how much gold they have: ideally, they should have more gold than iron and food.
It's imperative that you use the T1, as it has the greatest load capacity (= number of resources you can recover).
Sending UR lorries
UR lorries earn you more gold than other types of lorry.
Searching for "Reindeer sleigh ride" Tech gives you a 10% chance of getting a special truck that earns even more gold.
UR tasks
Perform UR tasks: they yield more supply boxes and therefore a greater chance of obtaining resource chests.
Attack elites with Monica
Monica has a 'Treasure Hunter' buff that increases your gold, food and iron winnings.
Note that this does not work on special elites, only classic zombies and cursed elites.
Send your teams to mine
As soon as you don't need them, send your 3 teams to gold mines.
Upgrade your gold mines and miners
Upgrade your mines to obtain more gold, up to level 27.
You don't need to do this beyond level 27, as it will take you around 40 days to recoup the cost of the upgrade.
Also invest in Gold Miner survivors: upgrade them as a priority.
Improve research
Certain types of research can increase gold production and the speed of gold mining:
- Economy: Gold coin collection
- Economy: Gold coin production
- Team (1/2/3/4): Resource collection
- Age of oil (after season 2): Coin production
Collect your resources with the Secretary of the Interior Buff
Apply for the position of Secretary of the Interior at the Capitol and when you're appointed, collect your resources.
This will give you a bonus gold harvest.
Resource chests in the Boutique d'Honneur
Every week, buy the 200 resource chests available in the Boutique d'Honneur.
Engineer skills
- Rapid production: Allows you to recover 24 hours of resource production in one go.
- Efficient harvesting: Increases mine harvesting speed.
- Instant harvesting: Allows you to immediately harvest the mines your teams are working on.
- Battlefield Clearance: Increases resource gains by up to +10% after defeating a Zombie or Cursed Elite.
Take part in events to earn gold
Arms race
Every time you play the Arms Race (every 4 hours), try to unlock all 3 chests: this will earn you 32 chests of coins.
If you manage to come first in the Arms Race every day, you'll also get 24 extra chests of coins.
Zombie Invasion
The Zombie Invasion is a recurring event that lets you battle zombies for lots of gold.
Killing zombies also gives you a chance to spawn Zombie Bosses with great rewards.
Tip: Stock up on stamina refills and use them to the full during this event.
By doing so, you can make several hundred million gold in just a few days.
Alliance events
Take part in alliance events such asAlliance Exercise and Zombie Siege, which have good individual and alliance rewards, including gold.
Alliance train
If your alliance offers a train, always choose the last carriage as this is the one that most often contains resource chests.
Optimise your gold spending
Gold will become critical when you start searching for T10s (level 10 units), the latest searches for which cost more than 500M each.
Tip: If you're looking for T10s, reduce your expenditure on building construction.
You can choose inexpensive buildings (e.g. reconnaissance aircraft) to continue earning points for the Alliance Duel on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Also, limit equipment upgrades on your heroes, which are going to cost you hundreds of millions of gold, while you finalise the search for T10s.
